Daily Notes is now a calmer planning surface from the first click through the final autosave. Pick any future date, write immediately on its first bullet, and keep your place while the page changes underneath you.
- Every future day is selectable across calendar months and years. A distant selection opens only that day, so the stream never fills with all the empty dates in between.
- Selecting a blank day focuses its first bullet immediately. Opening it remains read-only until meaningful text, an image, or an embedded to-do is added.
- Removing the starter bullet leaves one plain, writable paragraph with a live cursor. Hardware and iPhone keyboard deletion cannot strand the empty editor, and tapping the blank writing room restores focus without moving a valid caret.
- Miracle reads the selected date before editing, including a date previously seen as blank. A note saved on another device cannot be mistaken for a new empty page.
- Rapid calendar changes are now latest-choice-wins. A slower response from an earlier click cannot replace the newer editor, move its caret, or show a stale error.
- Every desktop day now keeps the same full writing-page height, whether it is blank, saved, selected, or farther down the chronology.
- Typing [ ] or [] at a daily bullet converts that row into one clean checkbox from a physical or onscreen keyboard. It no longer leaves a redundant bullet around the task or pushes the caret out of view.
- Calendar dots now mean exactly one thing: a daily note has been saved for that date. Virtual blank days, including future days you merely opened, remain unmarked.
- The dot appears after the first meaningful autosave and disappears after the saved note is cleared or deleted. Slower calendar responses and cross-tab changes cannot restore a stale marker.
- Unwritten past days retain the seven-day backfill limit. Daily notes that were actually saved remain available at any age.
- Direct links to future daily notes use the same protected read path, and expanded regression coverage checks focus, autosave, revisions, stale blank recovery, empty-editor recovery, checkbox structure, scroll stability, saved-only dots, and the past cutoff.
