The line is simple now: with yourself = habit, with a group = pact. Money doesn't change what something is — it changes how much it costs to miss.
A habit can carry a stake: a “staked habit” lives in your To-Do list like any habit, shows its stake on the row, and charges for misses exactly as before. Adding a stake to a habit only ever counts from that day forward — never backwards.
A staked habit keeps its teeth: it can't stop repeating or drop its stake instantly — the stake winds down over the usual 7 days first.
The Pacts page now holds only group pacts. Solo promises — staked or not — live where your work lives.
